Ever dreamed about skateboarding? Here’s your chance. Join us for a free, beginner-friendly Learn to Skateboard session for women. We’ll cover the basics, build confidence, and have instructors on site to help you get rolling. No experience needed, just register and come try something new.

Never stood on a skateboard before? Come anyway. Already know a few basics? We’ll help you build confidence and try something new.
02 / INSTRUCTORS ON SITE
We’ll start with the foundations: getting to know your board, finding your stance, balancing, pushing, stopping, and turning. Instructors will be there to guide you through it.
03 / TRY SOMETHING NEW
This is your chance to do something a little outside your comfort zone, meet cool people, and see what happens when you let yourself be a beginner.

At Electric Lemonade, we’re into the kind of beauty that comes from feeling alive, trying new things, and doing things that make you feel a little more like yourself. Skateboarding has brought so much joy into my life, and this is about sharing a bit of that.

Saturday, August 8. Start time is 9:00am and we’ll have a lesson for an hour. Free skate until 10:30 a.m. At Maple Skatepark, 750 Maple Ave, Burlington, ON

This session is designed for women 18+ who want to learn the basics of skateboarding in a supportive, beginner-friendly setting.
Daughters ages 14–17 are welcome to join alongside their mom or guardian. Participants under 18 must have a parent or guardian sign their waiver on the day of the event and must wear full protective gear, including a helmet, wrist guards, and knee pads.

We’ll start with the basics: getting familiar with your board, foot placement, stance, balance, and feeling steady. Then instructors will guide you through pushing, rolling, stopping, and turning. We’ll also do a quick surfskate demo.

Not at all. Never stood on a board? Come. Already know a few basics? Come too. We’ll help you build from wherever you are.

Bring your skateboard, helmet, water, and anything that helps you feel comfortable, like wrist guards or knee pads. A limited number of skateboards will be available to borrow.

A helmet is required for anyone under 18. Wrist guards and knee pads are strongly encouraged for everyone, especially if you are new to skateboarding.

Yes. The event is free, but registration is required so we can plan for instructors, boards, and space.

Yes. A waiver will need to be signed at the event before taking part.

Yes. Instructors will be on site to demonstrate, answer questions, and help you feel more confident as you learn.

Everyone who attends will receive a sample of Electric Lemonade’s After Hours Hydra Luxe Rescue Mask, a bottle of water and don’t be surprised if you make some rad new pals.
